Founded in 2004 by owner David Cerda, Kansas Turfmasters has grown significantly since it’s inception, almost 15 years ago.
For more than two decades, David worked for a Fortune 500 company, where long hours were par for the course. He started Kansas Turfmasters to ensure his wife could remain at home with their children, and because he had always been passionate about this industry.
In the beginning, this was a part-time endeavor, with David only cutting lawns on the weekend. After several years, as the business grew and word of mouth spread, he now spends all his time working in an industry he’s truly passionate about.
A Dedication to Clients and Solutions
With the growth of his company, David realized that education is something that’s extremely lacking within this industry. With this information in mind, he set out to ensure his customers understood the services he recommended.
Additionally, if a customer requests something they don’t really need for their lawn, David makes sure they understand why. He isn’t in the business of providing his clients with lawn care services they don’t need – even if it reduces his profits. His ultimate goal is to provide the care and solutions necessary to ensure his clients’ lawns are healthy and beautiful throughout the year.
Education and Background
Johnson County, Kansas has been served by David and his team at Kansas Turfmasters since 2004, and the business continues to grow. Currently, he provides services in the communities of Olathe, Overland Park, Lenexa, Merriam and Shawnee.
David has been working in the green industry for 25 years and studied Turfgrass management at Johnson County Community College. He has acquired his license for pesticide application in the state of Kansas and has a fully insured business.
